o2switch is the host that comes up most often in French-language recommendations when people look for simple web hosting, based in France, with no storage cap. For years it sold a single plan. That is no longer the case: the price list now has three plans, Grow, Cloud and Pro, and the promotion behind the headline price no longer applies to the entry plan. This review answers the question that matters before you order: what will you pay, over how long, and for what?
To work out your own case (number of sites, duration, VAT), use our real web hosting cost calculator over 1 to 5 years: Grow and Cloud appear there on two separate lines.
How this review was put together
All figures come from o2switch's public pages, read on 22 Oct 2026: the plan comparison, the three order pages (which show the total and the actual saving) and the support contact page. Note that o2switch's website is in French only. We did not run a benchmark or measure speed or support response times: this is a desk review, and we say so so that you know how much weight to give it.
The three o2switch plans in 2026
| Grow | Cloud | Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| First-year price (excl. VAT) | EUR 84 | EUR 22.32 (instead of EUR 192) | EUR 75 (instead of EUR 288) |
| Renewal (excl. VAT) | EUR 84/year | EUR 192/year | EUR 288/year |
| 3-year cost (excl. VAT) | EUR 252 | EUR 406.32 | EUR 651 |
| CPU and RAM | 8 threads, 16 GB, shared | 12 threads, 48 GB, dedicated | 24 threads, 64 GB, dedicated |
| Disk throughput | 16 MB/s | 42 MB/s | 84 MB/s |
| Storage | Unlimited NVMe | Unlimited NVMe | Unlimited NVMe + RAMfs |
| Backups | 30 days | 45 days | 90 days |
| Domain on renewal | Extra cost | Always included | Always included |
| Renewal terms | 12 months | 12, 24 or 36 months | 12, 24 or 36 months |
| Support | 24/7 | Level 2 priority | Level 2+3 priority |
All plans share the same foundation: unlimited disk space, traffic, sites and email accounts, ImunifyAV+ antivirus, PowerBoost and OpenLiteSpeed front ends, and a free domain name for the first year. Cloud and Pro add 250 GB of Nextcloud storage and TigerGuard security scanning.
Pricing: what has changed and what you need to calculate
The "from EUR 1.86 excl. VAT per month" hook is still on the home page, but it now refers to the Cloud plan in its first year. The Grow order page shows a saving of EUR 0.00: EUR 84 excl. VAT from day one, or EUR 100.80 including VAT for an individual in France.
The classic trap is therefore reversed. Grow has a stable price; Cloud has a very low introductory price and a renewal at EUR 192 excl. VAT, eight times more. o2switch states this honestly ("renewal at the standard rate"), but you have to do the maths yourself:
- Over one year, Cloud is the cheapest (EUR 22.32 excl. VAT versus EUR 84).
- Over two years, Grow is already cheaper: EUR 168 excl. VAT, versus EUR 214.32 excl. VAT for Cloud.
- Over three years, Grow costs EUR 252 excl. VAT and Cloud EUR 406.32 excl. VAT.
If you know your site will stay modest, Grow is the cheapest plan from the second year onwards. Taking Cloud for the promotion and then staying on it out of inertia is the surest way to overpay.

Resources: unlimited has a limit, and it is compute
Unlimited storage is real on all three plans, but processing power is not. On Grow, the 8 vCPU threads and 16 GB of RAM are shared with the main account, and disk throughput is 16 MB/s. On its comparison page, o2switch gives a rough figure for the traffic a site can handle, counted in millions of visits per month (the same page shows about 1 million in one table and 3 million in the other); this is the host's own figure, which we have not verified. For a blog, a brochure site or a few WordPress sites, it is more than enough.
Cloud is in another category: 12 threads and 48 GB of RAM independent from the main account, and 42 MB/s of disk throughput. It is the plan to aim for with an online shop, a training platform or a site whose traffic has spikes. Pro doubles the resources again and extends backups to 90 days, for heavy projects or agencies.
Support, company and guarantee
o2switch is a SAS with EUR 100,000 in share capital, registered in Clermont-Ferrand, declared as a telecom operator with ARCEP (AS50474), and it states that it controls its own datacenters. Technical support is advertised as 24/7 by ticket and email; the phone line and sales chat are open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, with lines based in Clermont-Ferrand. The money-back guarantee is 30 days on all three plans.
What we do not know: how fast support really is, and how well sites hold up under load. Use the 30-day guarantee to ask support a real technical question and to test your site under load before committing.
Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
Choose o2switch Grow if you are launching a first site, a blog or a brochure site, if you host several small sites and value unlimited storage, and if you want a price that does not change on renewal.
Choose o2switch Cloud if your project needs dedicated resources or 45 days of backups, knowing that you will pay EUR 192 excl. VAT per year from the second year.
Look elsewhere if you want a datacenter outside France, a longer money-back guarantee, or isolated projects with a choice of location: that is PlanetHoster's territory, which we compare point by point in o2switch vs PlanetHoster and cover in detail in our PlanetHoster review. If you want hosting in Switzerland at a stable price, read our Infomaniak review.
Our verdict
o2switch remains one of the clearest offers on the French market: a host that runs its own datacenters, storage with no cap and a short price list. What is new in 2026 is that the headline price no longer applies to the entry plan. For a modest site kept for several years, take Grow at EUR 84 excl. VAT per year. Only take Cloud for its dedicated resources, not for its EUR 22.32 excl. VAT first year, and put the renewal date in your calendar.

Frequently asked questions
Is o2switch a good web host?
Based on what can be checked publicly, yes, for French-speaking users who want simple shared hosting: o2switch is a SAS (French limited company) based in Clermont-Ferrand, registered as a telecom operator with ARCEP (AS50474), and has run its own datacenters in France for more than fifteen years. Its plans include unlimited NVMe disk space, unlimited sites and email accounts, daily backups and a 30-day refund window. The point to watch is the renewal price of the Cloud plan, which goes from EUR 22.32 excl. VAT the first year to EUR 192 excl. VAT per year.
How much does o2switch cost in 2026?
Checked on 22 Oct 2026 on the order pages: Grow EUR 84 excl. VAT per year (EUR 7 per month), with no first-year discount; Cloud EUR 22.32 excl. VAT the first year instead of EUR 192, then EUR 192 excl. VAT per year on renewal (EUR 16 per month); Pro EUR 75 excl. VAT the first year instead of EUR 288, then EUR 288 excl. VAT per year. Prices are shown excluding VAT; the final price depends on the billing country (20% VAT for an individual in France).
Which o2switch plan should I choose, Grow or Cloud?
Grow if you will keep the site for several years and its needs are modest: EUR 84 excl. VAT per year, with no increase on renewal, so EUR 252 excl. VAT over three years. Cloud if you need dedicated resources (12 vCPU threads and 48 GB of RAM independent from the main account) or 45 days of backups: EUR 22.32 excl. VAT the first year, but EUR 406.32 excl. VAT over three years. For a single small site, Cloud is only the cheapest option in the first year.
How long is the o2switch money-back guarantee?
30 days, shown on the order pages of all three plans. That is half of what PlanetHoster offers (60 days).
Can you reach o2switch support by phone?
Yes. o2switch states that technical support is available 24/7 by ticket and email, and that its phone line, based in Clermont-Ferrand, is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm (French time). The Cloud and Pro plans add priority support (level 2, and levels 2 and 3 for Pro). We have not measured response times ourselves.
